Mary Thornton, BSRN, MBA
Mary Thornton and Associates, Inc.
Mary is a national consultant and trainer with significant expertise in rehabilitation models of care, medical necessity, billing and reimbursement and compliance. She combines a Bachelor's in Nursing with a MBA to assist behavioral healthcare service providers in designing efficient, high-quality services and programs. Mary is also skilled at converting operations to meet reimbursement demands by addressing service content, delivery and management issues. She has made a career of trouble-shooting client operations and developing business plans for better operational efficiency and effectiveness, change management, coding and billing, revenue development, corporate compliance, program development and marketing.
She is the author of a number of books on corporate compliance and behavioral healthcare and is the current editor of the National Council for Community Behavioral Heathcare's Compliance Watch.
Scott Migdole, LCSW, ACSW
Scott is the Chief Operating Office of Yale Behavioral Health and the Yale Group on Workforce Development. His is also an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the Yale School of Medicine. His responsibilities include administering a large mental health services contract for pre-adjudicated youth, crisis services, vocational programming for persons with severe mental illness, outpatient mental health and substance abuse services and managing the implementation of the Supervision Competency Development Initiative in Connecticut.
Scott has also given multiple presentations at the national level, principally regarding supervision, treatment planning and Medicaid compliance. He has collaborated on various publications including "Graduate Education and Training for Contemporary Behavioral Health Practice" in Administration and Policy in Mental Health, "Mental Health in Juvenile Detention Facilities: A Review" in The Journal of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law and "Standards and Guidelines for Dually Diagnosed Patients in a Partial Hospital Program" on behalf of the Association for Ambulatory Behavioral Healthcare. He is now a contributing editor for "Compliance Watch" a quarterly newsletter published through the National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare.
Todd Christiansen, M.D.
Graduated from the medical college of Wisconsin and completed adult psychiatry
training at University of Wisconsin, child and adolescent psychiatry training
through university of Maryland and a forensic psychiatry fellowship through University of Maryland. i previously worked for the the D.C. Department of
Mental Health as a consultant to the D..C. Superior Court and then as the
associate chief clinical officer. over the past 1.5 years i have been the
attending child psychiatrist on an acute inpatient psychiatry unit and
adolescent in the district and have a small forensic practice on the side.
