Location: Lockport Village

Responsibilities include: providing intake and referral services, treatment planning, conducting homes visits, representing the child and family in court, attending administrative case reviews, participating in regular family team meetings, participation in the child’s educational needs, organizing client records, maintenance of agency records and necessary correspondence; and share on-call responsibilities with other staff, including weekends.

 

Position Minimum Requirements: BSW/BA in related human services, MSW/MA preferred; Child Welfare Employee Licensure and 1-2 years child welfare foster care experience. Pursuant to DCFS licensing standards submit to a full background check, and provide academic transcripts. Must hold a valid Illinois driver’s license with acceptable driving record and provide own reliable and insured transportation. TRANSITIONAL LIVING SHIFT WORKERS

Location: Lockport Village

 

SOS Children’s Villages Illinois is opening a new Transitional Living Program home for (6) adolescent boys in our Lockport Village. We are currently seeking staff for all shifts including 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.; 4:00 p.m. – Midnight; and Midnight to 8:00 a.m. There are full time and part time positions available.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: providing general supervision and intervention to your in the program; teaching and working with youth on basic life skills ensure their movement toward self-sufficiency; provide for the physical and emotional needs of the residents; assist with administration of Home budget; assist in planning and carrying out of therapeutic activities; leadership and participation in planning and supervising recreational and leisure activities; transporting clients as required; medication management; light household duties; enforce and maintain consistency concerning polices and rules; establish a positive, constructive relationship with the youth through communication, interaction and role modeling; participate as a Team member to achieve Program goals and objectives.

 

Position Minimum Requirements: Must be 21 years of age; Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or 2 years of College with equivalent experience, or High School Diploma with equivalent experience. A minimum of 3 years working with adolescents required. Ability to work both independently and as an active team member; excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; demonstrate good personal organizational and judgment skills; maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences; regular and predictable attendance; ability to manage multiple tasks; ability to work flexible hours; ability to follow oral and written instructions; ability to use Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook; ability to write reports and correspondence; ability to handle sensitive and confidential materials; ability to maintain professional demeanor while exercising discretion at work; ability to climb stairs on a frequent basis, life and/or move up to 40 pounds, and with proper training, be able to physically restrain youth; ability to work in an alcohol, tobacco and drug free environment.  Ability to pass DCFS required criminal background check including CANTS/SACWIS and SORS, and DCFS Medical/TB test.  Must hold a valid Illinois driver’s license with acceptable driving record and provide own reliable and insured transportation.

CHILD WELFARE SUPERVISOR

Location: Chicago Village

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: providing direct supervision to the case management staff in order to ensure the delivery of quality services to SOS children, foster parents and biological families in order to achieve the particular case goal as outlined and explained in the client service plan including, supervision of all casework services and case management staff, providing intake and referral services, treatment planning, participating in regular family team meetings, coordination of SACWIS responsibilities, maintenance of agency records and necessary correspondence; and share on-call responsibilities with other staff, including weekends.

Position Minimum Requirements: MSW or MA in related human services required, LCSW preferred; DCFS Child Welfare Employee Licensure; 3 years direct service child welfare experience and minimum 1 year supervisory experience or 5 years direct service child welfare experience with proven leadership responsibilities. Demonstrates maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences in children and families served. Must hold a valid Illinois driver’s license with acceptable driving record and provide own reliable and insured transportation. VILLAGE MANAGER

Location: Lockport Village

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: day to day management of the Village to assure efficient and effective operating structures to all supportive services within the Village. Serves as lead staff to assure all office and supportive services are provided to enhance the overall operation of Village activities. Ensures that the homes and buildings are maintained, safe and meet all building codes, DCFS regulations and IHDA (where applicable) occupancy standards; provides direct supervision of maintenance staff. Responsible for the monitoring of capital improvements plan of the Village and procedures for capital and other centralized procurement of goods and services.

 

Position Minimum Requirements: Min. High School Diploma, College degree in related business/non-profit field preferred, and a minimum of 3 years management experience, preferably in a social service setting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficient in all Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Publisher; knowledge of facilities management; and knowledge of bookkeeping, budgets and payroll practices required.  Ability to pass DCFS required criminal background check including CANTS/SACWIS and SORS.  Must hold a valid Illinois driver’s license with acceptable driving record and provide own reliable and insured transportation.
