Illinois Child and Family Service Review Training
Note:
The Registration material states "Please complete and phone in this registration
form to Christy Sullivan at (217) 557-5737 no later than May 7, 2003".
In preparation for the Illinois Child and Family Service Review in September
2003, DCFS in partnership with the Child Welfare Advisory Committee (CWAC)
will be hosting a number of training seminars in the Chicago metropolitan
area aimed at orienting agency executive level staff towards the CFSR
process in Illinois. Specifically, these seminars are aimed at providing
the following: (1) Disseminating information relative to the Federal Child
and Family Services Review process; (2) Describing efforts already underway
in Illinois to prepare for the review, and (3) Detailing ways in which DCFS,
POS and other contractual agencies, as well as other community stakeholders
might be asked to participate in the review.

In order to get this vital information out to as many Department and POS
agency staff as possible, these sessions will be geared towards specific
agency executive or administrative level staff with the expectation that
those staff attending the seminars return to share all relevant information
with staff within their agency. Due to the limited number of sessions being
offered, you are therefore requested to send only those staff holding the
following type positions within your POS agency/Department region, with the
total number of staff attending per agency not to exceed five staff
(exceptions for additional staff will be made for multi-service agencies
providing not only Foster Care but Intact, ILO and/or Residential or Group
Home services): Executive Director/CEO, Program Manager, Licensing Director,
Training Director and Quality Assurance Director. A letter along with
registration materials was mailed to Executive Directors and CEO's of
private agency and other contractual providers from across the Chicago
metropolitan area on 4/22/03. You are encouraged to be on the lookout for
these materials and to insure that arrangements are made as soon as possible
for yourself and the other targeted participants from your respective
agencies to register for these trainings. Space is limited and registration
is being offered on a first come first serve basis with the registration
deadline being 5/7/03. For your added convenience, this registration
material is also available on the CCA website. For those agencies also
serving downstate communities, there will be similar trainings offered in
select areas of the state at the time that final site selection for the
Illinois CFSR has been made. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in
this matter.
