Family Support Worker

Child welfare agency seeks a full-time bilingual Family Support Worker for its Healthy Families Program in Elgin.  This child abuse prevention program targets prenatal mothers and mothers of newborns.  Family Support Worker conduct home visitations, develops treatment plans, and provides long-term supportive and educational services to Spanish speaking families.  The position requires a bachelor’s degree in the human services, one year of relevant experience, and bilingual Spanish/English written and verbal skills.  Position hours are 35 hours per week, primarily 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.   Per DCFS licensing standards, candidates must have a valid Illinois driver’s license, submit to a full background check, have a medical exam and TB test, and submit proof of academic transcripts.

Coordinator

Responsible for leadership of our Arlington Heights Older Adolescent Group Home that serves six adolescent males between the ages of 16-19 who are wards of the state.  The program teaches basic daily living skills through real life experiences.   Responsibilities include: providing direct supervision of six staff, case management, department leadership, and program plan implementation.    Position requires a Bachelor’s degree and two years experience within a residential program serving adolescents.  Master’s degree and supervisory experience desired.

Overnight Worker

Child welfare agency seeks a part-time Overnight worker for its Older Adolescent Group Home for males between the ages of 16 and 19.  Responsibilities include night supervision of residents, one-on-one counseling, and facilitating a safe and consistent environment for six young men who are wards of the state in long-term placement.  Position shifts are throughout the week and weekends (11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.; seven shifts in a two week period).  The position requires a high school diploma or the equivalent.  Residential experience is required.  Per DCFS licensing standards, candidates must be 21 years of age, have a valid Illinois driver’s license, submit to a full background check, have a medical exam and TB test, and submit proof of academic transcripts.
