Special Ed Teacher

The CARE program operates a three-classroom nonpublic special education facility in Lake Villa, IL (far northern town near Great America theme park). There is a classroom for students ages 10-14 and two classrooms for high school students age 14-18. The rooms consist of ten students with two teachers aides, the teacher, and a therapist to help youth referred from public schools succeed in meeting educational requirements while addressing issues of behavior as well as family problems (we do in-home family therapy, as well as individual and group therapy for the children served). This is a structured, nurturing environment with the ability to creatively meet the youth's needs. They attend the program from 9-2:30 year round; it is a busy, active, challenging day for the team.  The teachers aides in this program are professionals who take a more active role in the overall teaching and intervention than most similar positions. Our current need is for a teacher who can teach one of the high school rooms. 4 weeks vacation, dental/medical, supportive and flexible work environment. We are looking for people who are up for a challenge!

Please come see the program even if out of curiosity - :) it is a unique setting in which to teach.
